About

Infant sleep coach, Amie Ashford

Hello Parents!

I’m Amie and a certified Child Sleep Coach.

Whilst working as a full-time private nanny for many different families for over 8 years and having my own two daughters, I recognised that happy parents have rested children! My eldest child in particular was not a great sleeper and so I totally ‘get it’ and empathise with all exhausted parents. It’s hard work! But I am confident that I can make a difference to you.

I like to take a holistic approach when it comes to sleep, viewing sleep from a child developmental perspective and ensuring that parents are responsive to their child and nurture a secure attachment style.

After an in-depth consultation and extensive understanding of your challenges, I like to take time to understand your parental style, your family’s routine and then tailor a bespoke solution for you and your little one(s). I know that every family is unique, and each child is one of a kind, and my down-to-earth, gentle approach reflects this. I form a partnership with families who strive to improve sleep quality (for their children as well as themselves!) and I enjoy watching them flourish into relaxed, well-rested families.

Are you still unsure if I’m worth the time and financial investment?

Drop me a line with your questions or sleep concerns. No obligation, promise!

Sleep is right around the corner.

What I can help you with

The principles of safer sleep

The principles of safer sleep

SIDS is unfortunately a very real thing. I can guide new parents on how to create a safe yet snuggly sleeping environment for their newborns.

Self-settling

With a deep understanding of the science of sleep, I can support parents to navigate their little one through a more seamless transition between sleep cycles as well as helping them drift off to sleep initially.

Bedtime battles

Newborns are supposed to wake throughout the night for feeds, but some children struggle to break that habit when they no longer need as many night feeds. Depending on their age, I can help your child sleep for longer stretches at night.

Emotional and mental support

I can help break bad habits, establish healthy bedtime routines leading to less resistance at bedtime.

Nap difficulties

Emotional and mental support

Emotional and mental support

Nap transitions can sometimes be unsettling. I can support parents through these changes, lengthening naps where necessary and overcoming nap resistance.

Emotional and mental support

Parenting can be utterly exhausting! Throw in some sleep deprivation and the emotional struggles us parents experience can go to a whole new level. I offer emotional support for you, guiding you through the process with understanding,  encouragement and absolutely no judgement, so you don’t feel like you’re navigating this journey alone.

Co-sleeping

Sleep regressions and separation anxiety

Co-sleeping

Co-sleeping can be a transformative experience for many families. As a sleep coach, I guide families in practising it safely for as long as they choose. However, there often comes a time when parents are ready to reclaim their own bed, or when the child is ready for their own sleep space. I provide gentle, soothing support to help families navigate this transition with ease and confidence.

Multiples

Sleep regressions and separation anxiety

Co-sleeping

Sleep journeys can seem overwhelming if you have twins, triplets or even just siblings of various ages. One child may sleep brilliantly and another doesn't - and they share a bedroom! I'm here to guide you through the process so that the whole family gets the sleep that they need.

Sleep regressions and separation anxiety

Separation anxieties and sleep regressions are a normal part of children's development that signifies a progression in their understanding of the world and people around them. These things can massively affect their sleep but I can support you through the transitions and make gentle changes that will help them.
